The 2021-2022 school year is fast approaching, and while I cannot promise that things will be back to our pre-pandemic normal, I am confident in our ability as a school community to overcome any obstacles that we may face. The 2020-2021 school year was a testament of how our staff, students and families prioritize education. Together, we proved that whether in person or virtual students were able learn and be successful. In fact, I believe that our students are even more prepared for the 21st century and beyond because of the pandemic. It forced us to look at education and learning in new and creative ways, to utilize technology to reach all students while keeping learning engaging and keeping students safe. One of my greatest takeaways from this past year was watching the learning happen from both sides of the classrooms; teachers teaching students and students teaching teachers. It is no secret that students today are extremely tech savvy and It was wonderful watching our students and teachers brainstorm ideas for a tech issue, or suggesting a different problem to get an assignment done in a more efficient way. It was in those moments like those that I truly felt the school community come alive and knew that PS 15 would persevere through anything.
I look forward to welcoming everyone back in just a few short weeks so we can once again watch our students shine!
